Electrical Noise Ignition? Injector?

Electrical Noise Ignition? Injector?
So.... I noticed this a few days ago.. and then I noticed it last night; Truck was warming up and i was going through radio stations and landed on a non-broadcasting station.. it was in the 90's range.. I forget the actual freq. but I could hear my radio picking up this ticking sound.. Not really a tick sound, more like in between a tick and what an injector would sound like..
Anyways.. long story short it only happened on this one Freq. no other stations had it.. it's not a ground problem my grounds are good as far as my radio and amp.. other wise it should have been heard across all stations.. When I rev up the motor the sound increase in spead.. as RPM drops it decreases.. some points at certain RPM points (random) the sound disappeared and reappeared.
Def. some interference being generated somewhere in the motor.. that the radio can pick up.. and the sound was in rhythm with the engine exhaust note as well..
One thing to note once i got up to about 160~170 F. it seems it utterly stopped.
Weird.. but that about how it goes sometimes. But I'm thinking some sort of interference (EMI) being generated by a Plug; Wire or injector being the sound was similar to how a plug firing would sound or an injector..
But then again I'm wondering if being the TSB takes the routing of the Ignition coil right by the rear of the Ault if it could be causing some EMI into the Alt..
This sound had about a .5-1 second rhythm at 800 RPM and of course as the engine was warming up the sound became further apart the closer to Idle it got.. and faster the higher the RPM got.
One final note.. was It was interesting because the sound kinda what i would call double tapped and tripped tapped (Sounded immediately 2-3 times like how an injector would sound when it trys to open does not and trys again 2 times.. )
IDK if anyone is going to be able to make sense of it..>>> Just want to see everyone's thoughts on this. I'll try and get a recording of it if i can next time i hear it..

wow that's weird never heard noise through a stereo like that before usually it's a high pitched whine that is fairly steady with engine rpm my guess is you have a bad ignition wire or wires. some high performance wire don't have noise suppression built in to them so I would start there remember that our distributors are right behind the radio.

I did that did not find anything; they were replaced about 2 months ago because i found one that had split and was showing the yellow shielding inside.
What I find most odd; is that it stops once the truck goes into a closed loop.. about 150ish and it wont do it.. so ... IDK
And yes I have a timing light... but the bulb is blown and I cant find one for it; its an old Penske/Sears..

It's not ignition noise so there really is no need to mess around with checking the timing or looking for arcing plug wires. Ignition noise sounds like bacon frying in a pan, it's a sizzling noise that gets louder as you increase the volume. That sure is one freaky noise though. It may be related to some sensor or other electrical component that is somehow related to the temp gauge and/or the temp circuits of the PCM. Maybe try temporarily disconnecting the temp gauge sending unit and see if the noise goes away.
The noise could also be riding into the radio via the antenna coax cable. You can try having the radio on with the noise present, unplug the antenna from the radio and see if the noise goes away. If it does, you may just have a bad ground on the antenna coax cable. You can remove the fender liner and the antenna itself and clean any dirt, surface rust or corrosion from the underside of the fender where the antenna is mounted. Then check the antenna cable itself, make sure it is not routed too close to big wire harnesses in the dash or electrical components in or under the dash. You can also strip the coax cable insulation back and solder a wire to the shield and ground it to help eliminate the noise. If that does not work, maybe stop by a good independent car audio shop and see if the can sell you an antenna isolator. That is a filter that plugs inline on the antenna connection at the radio. It does not always work but it may get rid of the noise. You might order one from Crutchfield or Sonic Electronix if you can't find one locally.
Also try a new ground for the radio itself. If you used the factory radio's braided ground strap as the ground for your stereo, cut the ground wire loose and connect it to about a 12 or 14 gauge wire, run it down to one of the kick panels and ground it to clean bare metal under an existing nut or bolt. The braided straps are not a very good ground point and they tend to become contaminated over time. A lot of radio noise and interference problems are the result of poor grounds or other ground-related problems.
You can also try having the truck running with the noise present and pull the radio out of the radio opening and away from the dash. If the noise goes away then you definitely have a radiated or EMR/EMI type noise. That is the worst kind of noise to get rid of. Try the other possible causes and solutions first and let us know how it goes.
