Default poor lighting - help

I have a 2002 dark grey dakota with stock headlights and no fog/driving lights. At night in the forest the light is very poor and I am looking for options to boost my lighting. Any suggestions would be helpful.
thanks

Our headlights suck.

Try and clean them up a little bit because they are probably all hazy and yellow. You can buy that PlastX stuff from Meguiar's for some pretty good results but to do them right you gotta wet sand and buff.

If they are all cracked from the inside out then it's time for some new headlights or HIDS. New headlights are cheaper tho.

Try a wrecker or buy some off ebay.

I don't think new bulbs will help you too much.

Don't be too sure about new bulbs not helping.

The bulbs do darken with age. Even a little bit can make a big difference at night.

I agree though. It's more likely the housings.

I've seen amazing results using toothpaste. Just squirt some on a rag, rub it into the dry headlight lens, and rinse it off.

I have some kind of Chinese replacement lenses on mine that I picked up cheap on ebay. I don't remember what brand they are, but they look just like stock, fit perfectly, and work. No complaints.

I have anzo projectors on my ram. They are much better then my ebay ones I had on my dakota. The price is about 100.00 more tho. Go with hid's and never look back! I drive mountain/back roads 95% of the time(70% at night) and hids were a life saver for me. Once you have them you wont go back. A lot of people will tell you that you need to run a projector but really you dont. The light output is pretty close to a projector beam. If you adjust your lights right you can run them and not need to worry. I ran my hid's in my factory housings for 2 years and then for 1 year with my aftermarket non projector lights. Only ever got flashed maybe once a month or so.

SCOMike .. i have the Anzo Headlights you got linked to .. I LOVE THEM .. they are easy to install .. easy to aim .. and they are real bright .. i like also that this turn your lights into a 4 light system ensted of the 2 light system that is stock .. I had a pair of the projector type with the big magnafing glass in them and I HATED THEM .. i could not get them aimed right so i sold them and got a pair of the Halo's that you linked to .. i bet you would love them to and nice thing is i got them off of Amazon too!!!
