Default Need help!.. TPS or iac problem?

I hav a 2000 dodge dakota.. Recently installed a used engine with 70k miles.. Truck will run fined for a while then I will get the check engine light on and will get stuck in 2nd or 3rd.. Also will shift hard into reverse and drive.. Has a new fuel pump.. New pugs.. I installed my old TPS onto newer engine.. Ran with no problem for about a week til last night then same problem.. I'm thinking its a sensor problem.. Maybe o2 sensor(s).. Would appreciate some help and suggestions.

Check for any codes. Try this:

Turn key on than off than on and off and on again and leave on. Look at the odometer window see if shows any codes.

The IAC is for your idle only now if its stuck open or closed then possibly it could cause problems

But it controls your idle nothing more

IAC = Idle air control

If bad you would notice idle problems

230 is the lift pump code for a diesel, 700 is EATX controller fault....

P0700 only indicates that there is a transmission code present. You need to get it read by a dealer or a shop. A regular code reader won't do it.

From the FSM:

This SBEC III or JTEC DTC indicates that the EATX or Aisin controller has an active fault and has illuminated the MIL via a CCD (EATX) or SCI (Aisin) message. The specific fault must be acquired from the EATX via CCD or from the Aisin via ISO-9141.

ok.. im not really technical enough to understand the acronyms but i will get it after a little research... do you think faulty O2 sensors could be a possibility? when the check engine light goes off the truck runs beautifully, aside from the strong fumes when starting that i might not have mentioned.. i am determined to get this truck rolling back at a 100 percent.
