Default V8 Swap question (I know..not another one right?)

Hey guys, I know this is probably been asked a million times. But I'm thinking of making the jump to a 360. I'm aware that I'll need the following things to make this work

-The motor of course
-wiring harness for the motor
-2002 ECM seeing as my truck is a 2002 model.

My question is this. Is there a specific model Jeep/Dodge that I should look for as a donor? Or all the motors pretty much the same spec? I hate to do this and think I could of spent a little more and got more ponies. Also where are people buying a cam/header/intake setup that is best bang for the buck. Thank you for any help you can give me and sorry if this question is been asked a million times, I'm going to continue searching this place.

You will also need the 360 torque convertor and drive plate. The V6 and 318 are internally balanced, the 360 is externally balanced using the torque convertor.

What engine do you have now? There are major differences between the 4.7 and the 3.9/5.2/5.9.

Plan on replacing the transmission too.

I have the 3.9 on a automatic trans. I wasn't going for a wild setup, just a v8 pull on a lsd rear. More of a toy than anything.

The 360 that the R/T dakota used is same as the 360 that the ram's used.

The computer does differ, you'll need one for the 02 dakota RT or get it flashed for such

The harness is optional, many just wire in the extra 2 fuel injectors to the V6's harness.

So it doesn't matter what year it came from? Long as it's a fuel injected 360? For example: a 99 Dodge Rams 360 will work in my 2002 Dakota?

yes, the motor doesn't matter. Everything else does.

The 42re trans that comes with the 3.9 probably won't last a real long time with the 360 if you plan on beating on it on occasion...
