I looked up the SCT Tuner, but couldnt find one for the 2.5 dakota/jeep engine, i spoke to my brother and he says even a PnP & a 3 angle valve job together wouldnt be much gain at all on since im not going all out 100%, i do want to smooth out the intake, theres alot of excess material that can be removed easily

Next up, i need to get my injectors cleaned

I just found this 2.5 rebuild he did a good job but goofed up not over boring the thing the 2.5 needs more power only way is install the biggest pistons you can get a 4.0 throttle body some head work and headers by Banks their is a number of small things that can be done to help also like a Hot coil and good plugs some better injectors also check the belt tensioners they tend to go dry and bog things down always install new ones.

If you mean head bolts you are supposed to use new head bolts every time the head is removed.

Are you talking bolts that attach to the head like for mounting the air hat?

I have a brand new set.... but the head doesnt have Dowels, so i need to use 2 old head bolts to align the head

Cant wait to see it done

You should list everything you did to it like a build sheet

It will help out other 2.5 engine owners watching have you seen the number of people that have looked at your thread almost 2k

Most 2.5 engine owners keep quiet on this forum as its mostly V6 or V8 owners and they tend to slap 2.5 engine owners down.

I on the other hand don't care I like my 2.5

Well these other ppl need to chime in if they have other questions/concerns or suggestions, damn the 4 cylinder haters, if its what you have and what you like, whats others opinions matter??

ill even add something which may catch some dirty comments...

I own several other vehicles, i LOVE 4 cylinders, and IMO one of the best 4 cylinder engines in existence is Hondas D16Z6 its 1.6 Liters, 16 valves, SOHC, you can go High Compression with it... 14:1 or u can put forged 8.5:1 pistons in it and boost it to 15-25psi (depending on build) Their Runner up in my book would be a B16A, with very little modification it can rev up to 11,000 RPM's

1986 Honda Civic Si hatchback
1991 Honda Accord LX
