I am wondering if I could convert a 2.5l to carb by just plugging the injector bosses and bolting a carb on? Could I keep the original distributor too? Also will the NV3500 work without a computer?

even our 3.9's were originally carbureted for a couple of years in the 80's.
Also, yes. The 2.5 is also a jeep motor, I bet you can find a carburetor intake fairly easy, unlike the 3.9. Heck, even the 4.0 jeep carb manifold will bolt up to the 2.5 i bet.
And I would sure certainly hope that a manual transmission would work without a computer.
I have read in a couple of places that the Dodge and Jeep 2.5 were different but I don't know. In case anyone is wondering I am thinking about building a small 4x4 buggy for mudding. I have a choice between the 2.5 and 3.9 I my local junk yard. So will the NV3500 work without the computer or would I have to find a different trans?
Is there a place to attach a speedometer cable on the NV3500? How much torque does the 3.9 have vs the 2.5? Would I have to have a distributor with vacuum advance?
I was planning on wiring up a GM electronic ignition module like my dad did on our Mustang. I can get a 3.9 out of an 87 Dakota and an NV3500 out of an early 90s Dakota at my local junk yard.
Actually now that I think about it, my dad has a couple of Chevy 350 blocks and other random Chevy parts and I could get a trans from a friend. So I might put a Chevy 350 in it.
