Default Stroker Crank Question

Will this crank be good for 400+ horsepower on a 408 stroker?

Get a forged crank, better in long run. $1800 for the whole kit ready for assembly isn't bad at all.

Which is better flat top or dished pistons?

depends on the CC of the heads you have and what CR you are going for.

I am going for about 10.5:1 or 11:1 CR. With these heads. I will probably do some porting to the heads but I don't know how much yet.

Those have a 58cc chamber. Small. Definitely use the ket with the 6cc piston. You'll need to have a fairly thick head gasket, 30 or thicker. Also depends on the block's deck height.

Do you know of any other aluminum heads besides the Edelbrock?

if you use the LA block, any standard small block mopar head should fit. The magnum is different and you'll have a slightly harder time of it.

I want to use a magnum block. I thought that Indy made heads but there weren't any on their website.

Indy used to be big on the mopar. I know they made LA heads, but very, very few companies did the casting change for the magnum- with the computer controls, there wasn't support for it. Most aftermarket blocks use the old LA design, so it made more sense to stick to that. A case of mopar outcasting themselves from the market through design change that nobody was willing to respond to.
