Default Tuffy console

Was wondering if anyone has a tuffy console in their Dakota. If so...which one and how was the install? I now have the flip up center seat and after cleaning the truck out today realized I need more storage space. Any info will be much appreciated.

Sorry for the sucky picture, but here's mine. It's a universal console without stereo (I think it's 8" wide, but measure how much room you have between your seats and order accordingly). I really like everything about mine, especially that I can lock stuff in it securely.

Yeah..I believe I can get a 10" between my seats. How did you go about installing yours? Any fabrication required?

And how's the height? Comfortable for an arm rest?

It's been a while but IIRC, there's a sort of reinforcement under the tunnel that the stock console bolted to. I put a couple of bolts through that, and a couple more through the floor with fender washers. It's rock solid.

And armrest height is perfect. The only minor gripe I have is that the padding doesn't go all the way to the front of the lid (it stops at the lock). So my arm kind of sits on the edge of it. Not a big deal. I've thought about having an upholstery shop make me a full-size pad with a hole for the lock, but it just doesn't bother me that much.

Thanks. Unfortunately, that's the only picture I have of it.

10" fit my 2001. Just drilled mounting holes in the bottom and bolted it to where the stock console bolted in. Makes it a wee bit tight on reaching the seatbelt release though.
