One for the legacy motor shouldn't be hard to find. Hell, the V8's may use the same fan with the deeper shroud.

On the legacy (3.9/5.2/5.9) motor, the water pump is 30mm x 1.5mm thread, standard direction (righty tighty lefty loosey). I don't recall which way the W/P spins though....which I should, seeing as I have it on electric drive.

Thanks magnethead, I can't check my water pump rotation, I've got my coolant drained and the temp sensor out, but I read somewhere if the smooth side of the serpentine belt in on the pulley that the rotation is counter clockwise. That fan looks like it's gotta work, big hole, 4 bolt holes, 19" etc.. and the clutch in that same section looks right also, threaded nipple to fit my water pump, 4 bolt holes on the back side for the fan etc... The water pump in that section however looks different than mine though, mine has the threaded nipple where the clutch screws on. The water pump in the 98 section looks like it has 4 bolt holes in the pulley to mount the fan on front and the nipple doesn't look threaded? Everything was looking good until I looked at that water pump, now I'm all screwed up thinking that if I mount the fan on the clutch the way it's supposed to (on the back side) the pitch may be reversed if it's supposed to be mounted on the front on the 98 water pump. Also do you think the 98 fan and clutch rotation is right for my counter clockwise water pump if I put it on the way it's supposed to be installed for my setup? In other word I'll be using the 98 fan and clutch on my 04 water pump will that work, will everything be rotating in the right direction....whatever direction that is? Thanks for you time and insights, sorry I've muddied the water up again

The fan on the 3.7, 3.9, 4.7, 5.2, and 5.9 rotates counterclockwise.

Thanks, that means all these parts will rotate in the right direction, with the correct threading on the clutch and the correct pitch on the fan. And it doesn't matter if the fan bolts on front of the pulley or the back of the clutch, I was thinking incorrectly that it would have to be turned around. So Thanks a million 00DaKDan and magnethead, I'm placing that order right now!!! Yeeehiiiiiii!!!!!

Okay, stuff is on the way, be here by the 17th. I'll update with the final outcome. I'm still gonna put that new sensor and relay in tomorrow, that stuffs 10 years old and 175k miles so it couldn't hurt. Thanks again for all the help, this has been a real tough one!

Put the new relay and temp sensor in today, noticed that my water pump pulley has the same four holes as the 98 water pump pulley. The holes in these pulleys are for the spanner wrench so the clutch can be tightened, not bolt holes for the fan as I originally thought, It's a lot easier to see in the daylight. Fan and clutch will be here Thursday, so says rockauto today!

I just went and checked mine to make sure. And with the belt on, you shouldn't have a problem getting the clutch nut tight. Might put some blue locktite on it. Since I have my E-drive pulley on those threads, I flooded them in blue locktite.

Thanks, good idea! I've still got to get the bolts for the fan, I've gotta wait until the clutch gets here, I don't know what size.

no idea on that, but I'd locktite those too! Just make sure you put it on set up as a puller spinning CCW looking from the front. I would imagine the fan is reversable for the sake of nobody bothering to make the hole pattern asymetrical.
