Hey guys need some help. I have a 01 dakota 4.7 that won't start. Ran just fine until one day I got in it started up just fine drove about a foot and then it just died. Everything works in the truck except fuel pump and Guage cluster. Has a good fuel pump in it. Could really use some help guys. Thanks for any response.

Did you replace the ASD relay and/or verify it is coming on? It powers the fuel pump and ignition coils.

Yes I did I swapped it out for a good relay I had in the truck and nothing happened. The truck turns over just like it always has. Just no fuel.

I'd be looking at the cam and crank position sensors. They can short out the 5 volt supply on the PCM.

Check for voltage to them. PDF attached.

I will look into that. So would there be 5 volts to the sensors with the key off or on?

Ok getting .4 volts to the camshaft sensor and .6 volts to the crankshaft sensor. Running out of ideas. I have a PCM out of a 01 Durango if that would work on a dakota?

Something is shorting out your 5v supply. Did you isolate each sensor? Also check the TPS.

While measuring any one of the 5v sensors, go through and unplug each sensor one at a time. If you unplug a sensor and get your 5v reference back, then you found the shorted sensor.

I checked the throttle position sensor, MAP sensor, crank, and cam sensor.
