Default need e fan help asap

Installed an e fan on my Dakota today. The fan does not come on at all and the truck overheats. I have the thermostat tapped into the cooling system and ignition wired to the stereo. What's going on?

Year/Engine?

Can you post a schematic of your wiring?

Is there a relay in there somewhere?

Try hooking up power directly to the fan, to see if works.

I see the problem and it may not be one you can easily fix. the thermostat threads need to be grounded to activate the relay coil to pass current. Depending on where you have it threaded into, it may not be grounded. It's a rather cheap/chinsey setup. You get what you pay for.

So now that the t stat is grounded there is another issue. The fan is constantly running and won't shut off. It starts as soon as the key is on
