Yes, but the important part in that link is there is a very clear picture of the engine to transmission adapter the guy built. It looked like a pretty simple, easy to duplicate piece, and would just need to be drilled for your engine and trans instead of a Chevy engine. You might also be able to get one of the adapters for bolting a Chevy trans to your engine and redrill it for the trans you want. Order from Summit, and if for some reason it won't work you can return it pretty painlessly. Something to think about.

Bump of a bump - EVGuy bumped this post from 2009, and it looked like it might help out your problem. He added this site, tdconversions.com, and it looks like they can make adapters to go from anything to anything. You can give them a call and see if they can make your engine to trans adapter.

He's one of those VW TDI guy's...........only. However here's a funny story. I'm getting ready to strip the engine down and take to the machine shop. I call the guy up and ask him when I could bring it by. He gets to talking and get this.......................HE MAKES ADAPTERS ALL THE TIME!! He makes them for companies to sell as their product. Anyway problem solved according to him. It will cost me probably less than a store bought one but guess what? It and the drawing will exist.

Default Shifting problems

Will an 02 Dodge Dakota 4.7 shift solenoid interchange with an 05 Dodge Dakota 4.7? My dad just changed the one in his before he broke the frame, and mine is going bad. Will I be able to use the new one out of his truck for my truck?

I was wondering what has to all be done for a 2000 5.2 4x4 46re transmission to swap over into a 2001 with the 5.9 4x4 46re-(I believe it would be a straight swap nothing needed to be changed but I might be wrong) does anyone know the answer to this question?

46RE from pretty much any 4x4 dodge that used one, 98 to 99. 2000 and up will also work, but, you will need to change the electronics in the trans, as things changed a bit in 00. So, if it had a 5.2, or 5.9 and auto trans, (and 4x4) it will likely work.

Default Problem with 97 Durango 4x4

So I had gotten an 97 Durango 4x4 with slight front end damage and another one for parts but a 2 wheel drive 97 both with a 5.9 and anyways after fixing it come to find out the 4x4 was missing the front end axles for the 4x4 and the driveline. But before knowing that me and a buddy took it on a test drive once fixing it. I had him try and engage the 4x4 to see if it worked but after doing that it no longer would disengage back up to 2wheel drive. I drove it in 4wd PT an it was fine at first until while driving I heard a crazy grinding type noise and then slowly it just stopped engaging into drive and even putting it into park it would make this crazy grinding noise and clunking ect. The only thing it will do however is go into reverse with zero problem and drive in reverse perfectly. And still it is just stuck in 4x4 indefinitely like it will not come out for nothing. I've tried going in reverse and turning the wheel to one side an back to the other. And before it stopped being able to go forward I tried it that was aswell. I've messed with it in every which way trying to get it to come out of 4wd and it's just plain stuck.

Now my question is firstly if anybody has any ideas on what is going on here and/or what I need to replace kuz im stumped. And then also if there's any way that I could get the drivetrain from the 2wd one I have to work in my 4x4 since the components for the front wheels aren't there anyways(I do want to at some point fix that though) and on a side note I've noticed that the output from the T case for the front wheels where the drive line would connect to does spin when I put the car into gear but just makes the terrible grinding noises and won't go no where . I really like this car and would love to be able to use it so please any help would be very appreciated thanks.

Are the outer CV joints still bolted into the front hubs? If not, Do NOT drive it like that. That outer stub is what holds the bearings together..... Without those, you can lose the whole wheel/tire. At any kind of speed, that would be a rather unfortunate event.

Do you have the lever for 4x4, or is it electronic shift?
