Default Seats Swap

Hello everybody. I was wondering if anybody has ever changed out their factory seats for either other manual seats or even integrated power seats from manually adjsuted seats? I Have the manual buckets my self in my 2003 dakota sport and man are they just uncomfortable IMO. Weigh in with your experiences or any advice on which route to take!!! Thanks

I suspect you could install power seats from the same gen truck without too much trouble, all it really needs is power, and ground. The aftermarket seats can be hideously expensive.......

I dont like bucket seats they constrict me and pinch my legs my manual bench seat is very comfortable. I did have an upholstery shop remove the vinyl center strips and sew in a fabric the first year I owned it and they formed the seat kind of like a bucket.

They did a great job but that was 20 years ago and they still look great my Dakota has no back area if I did buckets would be the only choice.

Nice! I like the split bench myself. You can kind of sprawl out on a bench seat. I had that in my chevy avalanche and boy do i miss it. I feel limited on space with the buckets. Being its the smallest truck ive ever owned it makes for a cramped up experience... That being said did they take the bench out of an slt or something? I wonder how a factory bench from a donor dakota would fit? HMmm

I've got the SLT with the split bench. The driver's seat is power and the passenger is manual. The armrest used to be all cloth, but I swapped it for the one with the compartment.

Nice, is it comfortable? obviously it'll fit in a Sport as they are the same size truck with a little bit of renovating. Ill have to check some local scrap yards.
