need help asap, 4.7 wont go over 3000 rpm
was driving my dakota and decided to give it a nice shot but when i did it hit around 3000 rpm and bogged out went past it and then bogged again already replaced the cam sensor witch is why my truck died in the first place if driving normal its fine any ideas ?
thats the plan for tomorrow , just wondering if anyone else had this problem posted on a group on facebook and someone said fuel pump but i doubt that i was thinking cats
Catalytic converter could possibly be plugged. I had that happen to a Blazer where the core turned sideways blocking the exhaust flow. It would run fine at normal throttle but hit a wall at 4,000 RPM if you floored it. After replacing it everything was fine.
its easy to check there's videos all over YouTube to show how
your symptoms are basically identical to these too!

if you have fuel trim lean codes it a fuel supply problem
if you want to rule out the cats...take the pre cat o2 sensors out of the exhaust to allow the exhaust stream to bypass the restriction. It will be loud but you will have full power if the cats are the problem.

Facebook groups are useless. Someone will tell you you need to put air in your tires to fix the problem.
