01 Dodge Dakota 2.5 liter
So I have a Dakota that the temp sensor I guess went out and I didn't realize it . Got hot bout half mile from the house and when got home engine light came on . The code at first was p0303 . Went ahead and replaced please gs wires cap and button, reset the codes but still had the misfire .started doing some research and said it could possibly be the injector . So I pulled the injectorsand just so happened that the number three injectors was an oddball of the 4 .so I'm thinking ,yes, gotta be it . I pull the plugs and make sure there clean and went bout 30 feet doen the road and light came on again . P0203 this time , which is injector circuit malfunction .. so o proceeded to unbolt the harness and tear into it . I found two wires that were no part of the injection system and fixed them ,reset the light again. .drove it down the road prolly 5 miles and the light came back on . P0303 and p0300. So I check the resistance on the coil and it is perfectly in spec but I noticed 3 hairline cracks .....so me being out of work for a month now and running tight on money got the tape out to keep it from grounding out if by chance it was and it's still misfiring .so I pull the number three plug and put it in the plug wire to. Check the spark and it has spark but it is yellowish orange and looks weak . So I'm a bit puzzled on one thing cause I just can't find the answer .. all the injectors have the same green w orange stripe power wire and they all come together and continues to the coil and it has the same color power wire . I check the voltage on all the injectors plugs and it is 6.8v and theplug to the coil reads 6.8v is this normal i. I checked it with the key on .PLEASE SOMEONE HELP !!!!!!

you sure your engine is the 2.5 as they only have one coil not individual coils per cylinder. Dodge was experimenting with that system but never actually implemented it just fazed out the 2.5.
coil for a 2.5 is $10
if you do have individual coils and a 2.5 you have a rare Dakota or some aftermarket setup. If it is aftermarket I strongly recommend removing it and putting it back to stock.

It a 2.5 with single coil . . So when the voltage comes out in front the battery does it have to go through relays or drivers or anything before it gets to the connectors or does it get converted after it makes fire ..not sure if you followed the entire post or not .and I know I get confusing sometime and see apologize .I really appreciate the
