Are you buying gas at the same station? Gapped the new plugs?

Well no there yet with the fan update... if I can get any tune back into the original ECM it would be a step in the right direction. Still running the JY one with the mis-matched VIN.

Getting the intake hot... installed the changes below and took it for a long spin around the block. 1st was just the IM blanket, IATs dropped to 77* at the lowest. After the diverter and the foam block, lowest it got to was 87* so a ~10* increase. CTs are up 2~3* to 206.

Intake manifold blanket... covers front 1/2 of IM

Air box diverter

Foam block above the condensor

Before anyone asks... tape is temp fix to plug IAT sensor hole, need to find a plug.

edit: update, morning drive in got IATs up into the mid 70's with ambient around 40 so approx 30* bump in temp. Without the blanket I was seeing approx 15~20* IATs. CTs are actually a tad bit cooler on the hiway than w/o the foam, which makes sense as with the block in place, forces the airflow thru the core. Yesterdays test drive it may have been mis-leading me as CTs looked like it was hotter on the loop.

@V8Cowboy If your daily driving your truck, can you do the IM blanket and report back mpg results over 200ish miles?

I am using marine grade vinyl and have it tucked down at the valve cover/IM joint area, I also have it zip tied in 2 places.

if possible, with what you use, make sure it will provide a decent trap for the heat under it and wont melt.

here in the US the marine material is pretty cheap at less then $20 for a 3*4' chunk

Found the reason why mpg's dropped with the new ECM... speedometer error is 11.1% now vs 3.3. In town they put up the radar speed monitors recently and it kept saying for me to slow down, and I was at the limit where I should be. So it occurred to me to check the speedo and tonight I did. @ 60 mph on the speedo GPS says 67... DOH! Had the little woman check my last tank which was a short tank and mpg's were somewhere up there around 17.3ish mpg's. So now I will go back and re-calculate those tanks that were run after the new ecu install.

whoops...

Aha.... Mine is way off because off the tire size i'm running, i have 265/70 R16 in the back, so 56mph on the speedo is 62mph for real.

I have my Torque dashboard set to the GPS Speed, but i know the numbers for different speed limits out of my head, we have a Traject Control System on the highway to my work, so i'll have to stick to the limit on this stretch of road....
Trajectory speed control measures a vehicle's travel time between two fixed points along a road, and infers its average speed from those observations.

I also corrected the speed values in the torque app, but choose to use the GPS Speed, another thing i did correct the driven miles to monitor the fuel level, don't know which factor i've have changed too, thought it was 1.12, to correct the distance travelled, and it's very accurate now.

I used Google maps as a reference to the miles driven, and they are very accurate, i do the same trips every week, and i always do about 387 miles per tank before filling up.

So when i'm at my usual comute trips to work i calculate with those numbers, if i made other trips in between i add them to my known numbers and i calculate from there.
