Wheel stud question
If you put non factory wheels on,02 6cyl that are a tad wider on the rim an stud threads are then a bit shorter after you put it on , just how many full turns is considered safe to drive on ..I can put longer ones in but would rather not...and what's the torque.
thanks

The stud should come very close to being all the way thru the nut. If it's down in there too far, you run the risk of it just ripping out the threads, and the wheel separate from the truck. Not a fun experience......
Torque 'em to whatever the stock value was, unless the wheel manufacturer specifies something different.

What kind of lug nuts do you have, solid caps or hole thru? Well with the hole thru, you'll be able to see exactly how far it gets. If it's the capped kind, screw a lug nut onto the stud till it stops, counting the turns as you go along. Of course you'll be using a lesser number but at least you'll have a good idea of how many turns you'll need for the stud to be well into the nut.
