Default 2002 Dodge Dakota has anyone else had this problem?

I have a 2002 dodge Dakota and it was working like a dream then all of a sudden I got loss of power, and the engine would start making some not-so-good noises like thumping, bashing, and roaring as the power was loss, I have replaced every sensor, fluid, and everything I’m at a loss and don’t really know what to do any help would be great thank you!

Where is the noise coming from? Could try taking the belt off, and run the engine a bit, and see if it's quieter. Don't run it long though....

comes from under the hood it’s not the belt I’ve tested that, my friend is thinking it’s my pvc valve or a vacuum leak

Erm, You won't even hear the PCV with the hood closed.... A vacuum leak, if its bad enough, may give you a misfire.... but, the noises you describe, that's a mechanical failure of some sort......

Does it sound like marbles in a tin can by any chance???

PCV valves can rattle but that is not generally how they fail on these trucks. Also it would just be a plastic sounding buzzing noise. I agree with HeyYou. The way you described the noise it sounds bad.

actually yeah that’s a good way to describe it, I got it at my uncles who’s a mechanic but even he’s admitted to never dealing with my problem so he’s super interested into figuring it out, and the code I’ve gotten is a Evap large leak I forgot the exact code though

it is definitely bad I’m really hoping it’s not the end of this truck, I fail to accept that, the rust is non existent and has exactly 200k on the odometer, and I’ve witnessed both my grandad and dad take very good care of this truck but it was neglected for about 3 years cause my dad got a new truck but now I’ve been doing as they were doing hoping to get it back in it’s factory condition
