Default digital odometer/gear lights

Hey, when I turn my lights on, for some reason the lights for the digital odometer/gear dim, but I already messed with the cargo lamp adjuster. Is there something wrong electronically?

Does using the adjuster change the brightness at all?

well, yea it does. The functions work, but....when I turn on headlights, the lights dim on the odometer and such, which I know is able to be controlled by the cargo lamp adjuster. the first of the 3...dots as it has in the picabove the **** adjuster, is responsible for keeping the lights bright, but it's not doing the job.

Just out of curiosity how much does it dim? Is it only a little bit or does it black out?

IIRC, the dimmer adjuster has 3 settings. First setting the adjuster moves freely and controls the brightness of the lights. Second setting, which is turned on when you move one click above the brightest of the first setting. This keep the instrument panels as bright as if during the day. The third setting turns the dome lights on, as well as turning the instrument panels to daytime setting.

It is also a possibility that you may have some burned out bulbs behind your instrument panel.

well i know the very top setting turns on the bed light, the one below is the done light, and the one below that keeps the brightness on. I guess they may have burned..but I'll check it out later...I'm havin a bit of trouble with the remote starter which I'll prolly be makin a topic on cuz it's not working so well even tho I checked all the wires.

w/ the lights on and they dim, i beleive thats a safety feature for when ur driving at night so the light is less intense on your eyes focusing on the road during night hours
