remote starter not workin right
lol, well...is that the kinda blue. cuz idk dude...i'm cuttin up teh tape and stuff, and i can't see any blue/yellow wire. Do you know where i have to look?
It should be right there, seriously. I was just under mine the other night wiring up a wideband, and it's there, like I said, unless your truck is a 2001, or some midway change over or something? How are you testing wires? Do you have a test light? stick your light or meter in that yellow wire you've got and crank the truck, if it lights up then it's gotta be it, but that's wierd
well it was made in march 00. The yellow wire does connects to position 7 on the ignition control switch. I probed it and it's (-) all the time and it's (+) during crank. There must be a blue/yellow wire since it's not cranking :\ . And also, in my repair manual...under teh ignition diagram for 2000 models, it says there is a blue/yellow wire. Drivin me nuts.
ok..apparently it's blue/yellow in teh book where i see it yellow in teh truck. So I gave up under the dash...so I went straight to the relay box in the engine compartment. Guess what? I found the wire.
Yeah up through 96 is a yellow starter wire, 97-00 is blue/yellow, then 01-up is yellow again. Also though, Bulldog starters will NOT crank if there is a wire such as the parking lights not hooked up, (for fire safety issues)so make sure you don't have extra wires that arent hooked up to anything. It's stupid, I hate Bulldog. But that may be the reason. And to make sure of the year of the truck, the best way is to look at the sticker under the hood, it's a white sticker with Catalyst information on it, near the bottom it will say something like "complies to 2000 model year" or 2001, ect That's a sure way to tell the year.
