So it hit 80 degrees in Minnesota today and I turned on theACfor the first time since about September and of course it didn't work. First thing I check is to see if the compressor is turning on and find out the clutch engages as soon as I turn the control to AC but it only stays engaged for about 5 seconds and then it turns off, wait about 10 seconds and it engages again for about 5 seconds and it turns off. It just continues to cycle like that. I know in the defrost mode it is suppose to cycle on and off but why does it do it in AC mode? I have owned this truck since it was new and it has never done that before. Any Ideas?
O.K, I'll buy the leak in the system answer but why does that cause thecompressor to cycle on and off like I described. Is there a pressure switch/sensor that won't let thecompressor stay on if the system is low on refrigerant?
i hooked a pressure gauge up to mine and it stays in the green, then when the compressor kicks on the pressure increases almost untill the needle is in the red and then the compressor kicks off again, and then repeats it self
