Sorry I just figured it would be easy to look up. They are EVAP leak codes, one is for the gas cap and one is for a small leak. I have tried 2 different gascaps and they all still trigger the code. I have tried the grease trick on all of them also, and it doesn't fix it. I was assuming that it had something to do with the filler tube issue with spitting gas, but I am starting not to be so optimistic about that since no one else has said they got those codes also before repairing.

Just got my letter in the mail today that they have extended the warranty for the 2006-2008 Durango gas tank so i should be able to get my $200.00 back if I can find the damn receipt. Thanks for the heads up Dodgecares!

Got my fixed finally today since the dealership finally ordered the parts after giving me the run around the first trip. I filled up afterwards and fuel did not spit out. I am still skeptical because it was above 60 degrees, and usually when the temp consistently stays 60 degrees or above it never overflowed anyway. It was just the cold months when I guess the vapors didn't hit the cut-off fast enough.

I did try to pump it one more time to get to even dollar number and it immediately spilled some out, so it definitely filled it up and didn't spit out unless I forced it to.

The bad thing is my "gascap" message is still on the dash, and eventually it will once again trigger the MIL, so it look as if the replacement didn't fix that. I am getting irritated on this code. After replacing several caps and it not going off. Emissions are coming up and I need to figure out what the hell is going on.

One tidbit of info for people though. I do have some nicks in the paint around the gas opening area that were not there previously. They aren't enough to complain about, but be aware that whatever they use to replace the part may give you nicks in your paint job in that area.

That is for the check valve TSB that was posted earlier, which covers the fuel filler tube, not the gas tank.

I have to pass emissions this month, so I am tired of trying to reset and hope all but the evap system is back up and running then hurry to an emissions place. In our state 5 of 6 monitors have to be back up. Last year luckily after reseting the only one that was not up was Evap and it passed emissions without a DTC showing up, although it did 1-2 days later :-)

I am feel confident these codes go away after the repair, but what say you guys?
I had the same set of problems with my Durango. The fuel spitting back our and the evap codes, and gas cap dashboard light on my Durango. Never thought they could be related, but maybe they are. In order to permanently clear the codes on my Durango I had to replace the evap canister. On my Durango it located in front of the gas tank underneath the car.

We're thinking the pump on the evap canister went bad and caused the emmisions light to trigger (replacing the gas cap made no difference). The gascap light took some starts before it cleared (after the canister was replaced). Perhaps something about the gas overflow works back into the evap canister and messes something up.

All I do know for sure is I have the TSB issue and I had the codes issue. Replacing the evap canister (cost ~$100) took care of the code issue. It goes in next week to get the gas tank issue fixed (got my letter today).

Check your receipt. If it says "failed inlet check valve", then the only way to fix that was to replace the entire fuel tank. You should be able to get a refund.

Agree Check valve is in the tank and is a non-serviceable part. Only way to correct is entire tank. Fill pipe is separate but is replaced with the tank I have seen many times.
