Gas fill overflow on my 06 durango
Got mine fixed today at the dealer. They said I was the first one they did and had to order the part. Glad I told them last week to order the part before I got there.
Work order shows the left rear wheel, spare, and plastic fender liner were removed and the filler tube was replaced. Next fill up I'll report back here on the results.
I wonder if Dodge was able to figure out how to solve the problem by replacing just the filler tube with a new design rather than having to replace the whole tank. Either way, today's work was $0.

Well, I am extremely surprised. I received my reimbursement check from Chrysler today. I think it definitely benefits people to submit their claims via the 'Net, and get them in early before Chrysler is inundated with claim requests.
My '06 Durango has been spewing gas for almost two years. Today I called a couple of local dealers, but apparently my VIN is not considered an "affected model" covered in the TSB. I've since called corporate customer service and it's been assigned to a case manager to determine if my 2006 Durango is worth fixing like all the other 2006-2008 Durangos experiencing the exact same problem.
I know this is my first post here but i have been checking this thread out behind the scenes now for some time. I have an 06 that has had this issue for quite sometime now and have been having a hellacious time with Chrysler on this about getting this TSB performed. I am now on my second corporate rep and second case number and still they are hassling me. It too much to write here so i am including a link to a thread that i have been posting on Durangoclub.com. http://durangoclub.com/forum/viewtop...er=asc&start=0

PM me your vins and I will see if they will be covered or not. It is warranty extension X39 and should show in the dealers computer. If you called customer service they should be able to tell you immediately if it's covered or not. They should not have to look into anything. Maybe something is getting lost in the translation but the correct term to mention is warranty extension X39. Like I said PM me your vin if you want to know for sure.
Happy to report my Durango has been fixed! Props to Perkins Dodge in Colorado Springs. Ended up spending $380 on a tranny flush and replacing the tranny cooler lines that were leaking (common issue apparently). But the fuel fix was free
Here is a video of my fillup tonight after leaving the dealer (put in 21 gallons):
