Do you have the receiver hitch and wire plug-inson your durango? If you do, then I assume you have the tow package and would make getting set up a lot easier.

You will want an electronic brake controller to control the brakes on the trailer. These can be had for less than $100.00. You will have to run some wires to connect the controller to the wire plug-in.

I probably just created more questions than answers, but if you have any more, just fire away.

What you'll need to do then is run all the light wiring and the brake controller wiring. It shouldn't be to bad, most of it is plug and play. It will be just a matter of running the wires and where to mount the plug in for the trailer.

Good luck.

With the factory hitch and wiring they include at wiring harness that you have to sodder onto the after market brake controller. Then the wiring harness will plug into a light blue plug socket located under the dash up towards the emergency brake petal. If you can locate the factory wire harness adapter to connect to the aftermarket brake controller, its a 30 minutes job.

I have a 2004 durango with tow package, have the blue plug. Trying to get the electric brakes on my boat trailer working. I ordered a Tekonsha Prodigy Proportional Brake Controller with Dodge adapter.

http://www.etrailer.com/tv-brake-con...e-durango.aspx

Is the only thing I need to do is plug this unit into the blue plug? Do I have to do any additional wiring to get the trailer brakes to work?

Thanks...
