is it 3" inch pipes all the way through? If so it will seriously hurt performance. It will look good, and sound loud... but thats all it will improve.
Please post pics. (btw if you want my basis on this I can post a good chart for performance and piping diameter)
Nice buy btw with the OBX header
P.S. I decided to post it anyways cuz I found it again!!

What this graph shows is when an exhaust systems becomes a restriction. It is called a Corky Bell graph. If you look, the stock 2.25 tubing that comes stock on our neons is good up to 200 BHP (break horse power). That means it is more than adaquate for any N/A / slightly turbo'd (stock internal and no bolt on) neon. By throwing a 3" tube exhaust on there, you lose back pressure, and there for lose power. You a 3" exhaust if your pushing +450 N/A!!! For Turbo'd cars, they don't necassarily need an exhaust system (which is where down pipes and cut outs come in. With Turbo's... The bigger and more free flowing the better (which is why there are aftermarket 3" exhaust systems for SRT-4's
enough of a car lesson though

You guys are making too big of a deal of this...having a 3" exhhaust will hardly affect performance as is, i think we owe it to ourself as neons owners to atleast have a phat looking exhaust system that backfires everywhere, looks means, and sounds awesome. All neons unless HEAVILY modified are not speed demons, so u mine as well make it look tite with an srt-4 exhaust that outflows any performance muffler, and sits beautully with our bumpers. I have done tons of performance to my neon and it didnt do THAT much for speed, so i think neon owners deserve to at least go a little crazy with something exotic and go big, ur not gonna lose that much power, seriouslly, its not like the neon is really fast to begin with. i have a header wth a 3 nch downpipe and a 3 inch cat. i have a vibrant dual exhaust on rite now which sounds mint but looks retarded. i will soon be replacing the vibrant with a 3inch stainless steel srt-4 catback exhaust system with the 4" tips as well, and it will look phat, sound phat, and go great with my great looking neon....power is hardly the issue here....
I agree with you 20dodge Im lookin for the borla or injen srt exhaust myself Im just out for looks and a very cool sound also .

I know alot of sxts that have the borla on and the injen on and never hurt there perforamnce . The borla isnt as loud as the injen . Both of those best out the looks of the stock srt exhaust anyday.

My buddy bought a new big exhaust system, against my word, and then complained that he lost all low end. He bumped it up to a 3" tubing and he had stock 2.00" tubing. I told him to go with 2.25" and he said "bigger won't hurt..." yea... sure...
Look, all I said was that if he bought it in hopes of getting performance, he did the opposite. If he bought it to "look cool" and "sound cool" then he bought an ok exhaust because it is indeed quite loud (no excess mufflers or cats because it is DESIGNED for a TURBO'd vehicle).
