here's my two cents because I always give it.....ALL I DID was take my stock muffler off....i didn't change the tubing didnt put on another muffler....LOST my power and pull off the line....I think will be reinstalling my factory muffler someday soon now because it will keep the fuzz off my back and actually give me power....WELL...I dont know...i feel like i have alot better top end than i did before but lost bottom end....I will reinstall the muffler and tell yall what i think.

neons have a 132 hp...plus all my mods its hardly 150+, it all depends onm what ur tryin to do with it, either get a tite exhaust that take sa alittle out of ur hp range, or spend 3,500 to make it somewhat explosive...me, id rather not ddump too much into a neon to make it lightning fast, too much of a gamble on a cheap car, i love my car tho, and i just want it lookin unique and mean and sounding something crazy, if i have to lose a bit off the line, so what...i usually waste other 4 cylinders at higher speeds anyways while giving them some nasty noise...but im not tryin to get in an argument, u guys are right on losing horsepower on lower end, but its all in retrospect to what u want in the car..
neons have about 110 wheel horsepower stock, and no offence, but i doubt you have 150+, but if you want a huge exhaust, do what makes you happy, i will not stop you. im done
thats at the crank, if you calculate drivetrain loss you're lucky if you are even over 100

i know the neon makes more then 110 at the crank. it makes 110 at the wheels maybe if your running an auto. how about with a stick maybe 115?

my mangaflow i feel i gained power no loss at all

You guys are being wayyy too ****...it's a bit much. Neons are slow, bottom line, so ya mine as well have a nice looking and sounding exhaust, I am not asking to get all weird and particular on specs, i know what my neon is numbers or not, it does great against most 4 bangers that arent turbocharged. It's all preferance, personally, i like the look of 4 " tips making sweet noise that looks flush with the bumper, it's plain tite...theres no argument here...period.

wow, if I had known my simple post would erupt a load of crap on this forum i would have never started typing it!

All I was hoping was to see what his goal with the new exhaust was, and if he bought it for performance why it was a bad idea.

sheeeeeesh.

You guys are too adament bout this for it to be a straight topic... that and the guy never posted back.

Yeah my bad guys, I always get so worked up on this topic, it's a fun topic though. Neons to me aren't very powerful, they are "quick" as I'd like to put it, they aren't going to do anything spectacular, they just get to speed a little quicker than a daily four cylinder car does, and depending on waht you do to it, you can make that quickness sound great, and look great with looks. Unless your willing to dump thousands of dollars into a neon, like me lol, then neons will remain slow. I need to make it aware I am not an advocate for all show no go, I have the resume to back up my sound and looks, I've done a lot to it, but one of the things I accept, is that it's a dodge neon, not an srt-4, so at least i like to have a loud *** exhaust, which can go a long way with a decently fast car...no harm feelings guys, hope i didnt come off as an *******, just having a little fun car talk here...

P.S: THAT VIDEO WILL BE VERY APPRECIATED, THANK YOU!

Hey Im all for show anyways so unless you have a srt4 only neon out there that has some power worth talking about . For looks a borla or any other srt4 exhaust on a non srt4 is going to lose power unless you get a glasspack to help restore some of your power back.

I've got the Mopar/Borla and it isn't ridiculously loud on my R/T. It didn't come with resonators though, just 2.5 tubing and the muff. Didn't fell any loss of power. And it's stamped Mopar, not Borla so no cop issues...yet. By the way Airwolf it's still for sale if you're still interested PM me, I'll take pix too;-)
