Default grinding tranny

hey guys me again,
i started noticeing that my tranny makes a grinding noise
it sorta sounds like when you forget to put that plastic liner back and you drive it makes a plastic asphalt grinding noise?
well it does it when i start the car and its cold and i drive off it only happends when its cold and in 1 and 2 gear only?
also when the car is cold it is xtreamly hard to put it in secound gear and or back into 1st
weird isnt it ?

the lubricant should be ATF+4 yanno, all those High Performance products sold are serious overkill for a stock neon.

so i gatta drain the trans? again how do i fill it again then?
and i have a manual so why would i atf+4? when the car warms up i shift reall nice except some times i mis third donno why its like the clutch didnt disengage right like if i didnt shift right for example like if i put the clutch down and let go before i put it in gear it will make that grinding sound.
i just dont wanna break somethign cause right now im in a huge bind and my car is the only way to get money as i am delivering pizza
