My ? is what kinds of times can I get out of my 2000 automatic neon. I do not want a turbo just all motor i've found alot of stuff for it and for thetrans, but before I start putting money in it I just wanted to what some of you run in the 1/4 mile and or stop light to stop light.

 

1/4 mile with a 3-spd auto 2.0 N/A, I would say the best you will see without any heavy modding would be 17 seconds or so... maybe high 16's if you are REALLY lucky and have a few easy mods

 

hey there is this guy named dtjackten who is the 2nd gen mod. He made a 14.1 one time, but I am not too sure what kind of tranny he has. you should ask him.

 

mat dtj is also boosted. I think non turbo high 15's to mid 16's is my guess. Haven't taken mine to the track though

 

I would think it would do better then that with a good amount of mods but I've always had civic's and the only neon I've ever raced was a buddys SRT-4.

What about a heavy modded motor and NOS any ideas.

i race a non-modded manual '00 and the lowest i got was 16.97

 

to answer ur question i am boosted... i am also a five speed tranny, BUT remember if u go n/a ur times will odviously be not as good as turboed cars... if i were u and if u were looking for a "weekend warior" i would go to ebay and get anitrous kit...

pre boost i was running a 16.1 with header, exhaust (fartcan tho[:@]) and port and polished head.. just to give u an idea

 

Best I ever pulled off was a 15.880 at the track, on adumped 4000 RPM launch, w/light mods, lighter wheels than I have now, and only 30k on the car... cant recall my 60-foot time, but I know that was the saving grace behind the time.
