Thanks. I have a few more years to research it.

I was looking into this bellhousing since I can use any transmission.

Here is a Car Craft article on it. The T-5's have been around a while and the Mustang guys have plenty of parts and clutches available for them.

2.1. An SRT engine and trans can be had for less than that...if you know where to look.

I am actually thinking about putting a 2.4L in my '71 Dart with either a GT30R or a GT35R.
I was not snapping at you. Just not sure how such a statement came to be. The 2.4L block can handle over 1000hp by design. How they found that out is beyond me. Keeping it fro spinning rod bearing is far more important. The very odd shape oil flow hole in the bearing plate is a definite problem. Along with the obstructive casting flash near the water pump.

I know, its all good.

I know of a guy on another forum that is making over 600 HP on a stock bottom end. They are really tough motors.

although the t5 is cheaper its a fair amount weaker then a t-56... still should be handle more then enough power to last behind a turbo 2.4.... i've seen them take 5-600hp from a mustang but i've also seen them break behind a relatively stock 5.0... lol

I know what you mean. I think there is also a super T-5 that handles more.

I am not going to beat on the car either. It would only take 400+HP abuse on a rare occasion.

According to Summit, the World Class can hold 330 ft/lbs of torque.

That does not mean it is going to fail at 331, and ^^^your friend's transmission can hold more than it was designed for.

Not really the most accurate way to gauge the threshold of a T-5. Just like some srt owners have pushed stock internals well beyond the 500hp limit. Horsepower does not cause engine failure, but detonation does. Among other things. Horsepower does not cause transmission failure, as the power originates from torque. Excessive torque, and poor driving skills kill transmissions. Among other things.
