Should I keep my r/t exhaust or get a srt4 exhaust.
Yeah, the quality if far from the best.
I've heard people say bad things about the quality but not the sound. Mine is fine though. I still wish I would have spent the extra money to get the Borla cat-back. I'm thinking about getting one.

when it starts rusting away.. replace it with the borla
Ive decided im gettin a srt exhaust just heard a sound clip from a guy that has a sxt with a srt exhaust on and it sounds very cool louder than the ricer cans. He said he got 5 more hp he said a bit quicker since the exhaust is free flowing and the engine runs better. Doesnt sound ricey to me at all. Im gettin me the srt spoiler also this week. When i get everything installed will take pics and sound clips.
Your best bet is to get the Mopar Performance exhaust, I had it on my '99 R/T and it sounded great and wasn't ricey at all and I have the Mopar/Borla exhaust on my SRT-4 and I love it as well. I highly recommend that you don't put the SRT exhaust on your N/A Neon for several reasons. First off is the fact that it will sound like your running without any exhaust at all and your going to get plenty of tickets for it too. Next up is that while you will gain horsepower, your going to lose torque because of the total lack of backpressure. If you had an upgraded performance PCM you can lose some backpressure without hurting it much if any. Turbocharged engines run lower compression which makes them quieter at low or no boost and the turbo itself acts as a silencer which is why the SRT-4 can get away with having a mufflerless exhaust. If you've heard a 4 cylinder without an exhaust then you know what your Neon will sound like with the SRT-4's exhaust on it, it will sound the same as a 4 cylinder running nothing but a header except yours will be slightly quieter.
IM still gettin a srt exhaust and I will find out how loud it is myself I have a auto it will sound alot better on a mine . I want it loud louder than those ricers and I live in Iowa they are no louder than motorcycles here. Im sure the poilce wont bug me. Thanks anyway. Im waitin for it to come. I always can sell it and keep my r/t dual exhaust.
We drive neons.....domestic rice rice baby.......we have the same motors as eclipse rs and such how much more ricey can we get?...LOL dont worry about what your car sounds like just drag it beat a few ricers and be proud. Its not a match as to whose fart can or glorified dynaflo exhaust can sound louder, smoother, or what not. As long as you dont cut the muffler and chrome tip it like all the cavaliers around here who think it gains 50 hps youll be ok.....

He actually has it backwards, the Neon shares it's engine with the Eclipse. The later 2.0L DOHC Eclipses have the Neons' engine and it basically just has the head on backwards. There has always been a misconception that the Neons have the Eclipses engine, because of the DSM's having been little more than Mitsubishis with slightly different styling and Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth badges on them. The N/A 2.0L DOHC engine is built by Chrysler and was mainly used in the Neons, but they were later changed slightly for use in the last few year Eclipses.
