Also check the pins on the connector. One of them might be bent, or broken.

It seem like the problem is fixed, but I don't think it's fixed.
Let fix the problem with the TCC first, and then we will work on other problems.

Or just unplugged the connector to the TCC solenoid to make sure it does not cause any problem.
Test drive your car, and let me know how your car drives.

If your car jerks when it shift, the problem is more likely to be with the transmission. Not the engine.

It might not be that bad like the shop told you.
Many times, replaced the transmission control solenoid, input sensor, and output sensor will fix the problem.

A more accurate way to test the orange/black wire is to test it with a small light bulb.

The picture I attached to this post show you how to do it.

You need to watch this light bulb as you seat in the cabin. When you go over 40 mph, the PCM will ground the orange/black wire to engage the TCC.
You will see the light bulb light up when that happens. If not you will need to replace the orange/black wire, or even the PCM.

You might need more than three AAA batteries to power the light bulb (depend on how many voltages it needs).
You don't have to plug the TCC connector back in.

Car seems to be running fine. Still no jerking but fuel economy is still in the trash. 15mpg on good days.

If anyone is still following this post:

I'm curious if my problem could me an output sensor or something, as mentioned. My car doesn't jerk anymore but shifts very hard from into second gear. The rpm sometimes peaks up to 2500 and seems to be coasting at pretty high rpms. Also, when I'm breaking and the car downshifts, it kicks back pretty hard at me and rpm spikes. Still no new codes. I won't be able to get into the car to look at anymore issues with the TCC for a while (I don't have a garage), but I'm wondering if it sounds like I have something else going on along side this issue. I'm so tired of ****ing with this car, but my gas mileage is killing me this winter.

Your trans has an output sensor to display the odometer total miles, but it does not has an input sensor. For that reason, I don't think it has transmission control solenoids/solenoid pack that is controlled by the car computer. What that means is: the shift up, and down is not controlled by the car's computer. It is all mechanical. Controlled by mechanical components like a throttle cable that has one end attached to the gas petal, the other end to the transmission. When you step on the gas petal, it pushes the throttle cable. Which in turn open the transmission throttle valve. The transmission knows you are stepping on the gas, so it shift late at higher rpm. It also shift quicker to smooth out the shift.

Try to adjust the throttle cable (also called throttle linkage), and things like that. They maybe misaligned.
If you not sure about something, don't do it, or you have more problems with your car.

Read this post, and search Google for more answers.

I wish I can help you more, but I'm busy applying for a job, and I have a lot of things to do at the moment.

Hope you fix your car soon.
Good luck

You got to fix the TCC, it's the reason that you getting poor gas mileage.
Follow my instructions in previous posts.

If you can't fix it, just unplug the connect to the TCC solenoid, so it won't cause problems.

Your car is shifting hard not because of the TCC.

Had to deal with a fk scammer on craigslist. Offering me a job, made me filled out a long application, and then asked me to check my credit scores. I did not fall for it, but I feel bad for the people that felt for it. I thought I got the job for half an hour. The fk turned me down.

Two things. 1. Employers do check your credit. Those who are responsible tend to pay their bills. 2. What does that have to do with this thread (perhaps I missed something about Craigslist scammers in previous posts)? Let's keep it on-topic please.
