Default 01 neon won't start

This may sound kind of stupid but here goes. I have an 01 neon that was the base model, so I got all the parts to convert it to all power, windows locks and mirrors. My next step was to put in remote keyless entry. I did that and bought a remote for it. Now came time to program the remote, it came with instructions on how to do it, but I should not of trusted them, but I really wanted the remote to work. So I tried it, it told me to put a jumper wire to the keyless entry module and the other side of the to the ground terminal both within the data link connector and that was supposed to enter it into programming mode. Well it did not. Insted now I have a car that does not start at all. It doesn't even click when I turn the key. Could it just be coincident that the starter went to hell, or could this be something bigger?
Any suggestions would be great

Did you remove the jumper wire(s) and put everything back the way it was before the problem?

If so try unhooking the battery cable for a while and reconnect.

Is the problem still there after that?

Yes everything is back to the way it was. I had the battery unhooked for a while and still nothing. The starter won't even click.

I found this post #10 forum. 2gn. org/ viewtopic.php?p=968452&sid=f8504d0d3b002113c49e4e1 ed828b65e

If that don't work then maybe the keyless entry module went out.

Is there a red dot staying lit up in the cluster?

I haven't noticed a red dot in the cluster. I will look when I get home. What would that mean?

I replaced the starter yesterday and still nothing. I think I am going to try the neutral safety switch tonight and see if that works. Any other suggestions would be great. I am completely lost on this one.

It's possible, but you said you added remote keyless entry, did you try removing that altogether?

If your PCM does not see what it expects it could do what it's doing too.

Yes I tried removing the module and it still wouldn't start.
I replaced the neutral safety switch last night and still nothing.
I have no idea what else to do.
Would a bad pcm cause the car to not start? Or just make it run bad? Like I said the starter doesn't even engage, but it is brand new.
