Hi, my name's Josh, I'm 26 and in the US Coast Guard. Currently I'm stationed in N. VA and I just purchased a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT. Haven't really done anything to it yet, but for the price I paid, I figured why not make it a nice project car. I don't know a lot about cars except how to change my own oil and replace a couple things, but I'm always open to learn new things. I bought one of the maintenance guides for my car and honestly, it's not as good as I thought it would be, but seeing this forum, it's helped. After looking at everyone's threads, I've found a lot of useful info and ideas, so hopefully within the next 6mos I should have something better than what I started with and I'll post pics then. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Hi, My name is Dan. I drive a 2002 dodge neon se. It was once white until i painted it Orange and Black. i bought a front bumper for it wit ha mess grill. The paint job costed me $3000 dollars including the bumper. I live in New Jersey and bought the car for $4000 with only 49k miles on it. I am constantly looking to do custom interior on my car. I spray gunned the front arms next to the wind shield and the face plate to the radio orange. I am in the process of getting a dual exhaust on it. Most likely going to get different seats and continue to make my car the best looking neon around where i live.

Default New here

Hi
My name is Vic. I just bought a 2005 Neon SXT. It was in an accident and the front passenger fender is smashed, bumper cover is damaged, and headlight cover is cracked. Also noticed a fuel leak....back at the firewall. It looks like it is leaking where the hose coming from the fuel rail connects to a little plastic piece attached to the passenger side of the firewall.
She has 60K on it and drives great. Love the radio too. I'll be on here looking for help and parts. I'll post some pics of her good side soon.

Hi,
Terry from Iowa.
My 2000 Neon is not a performance ride unlike most everything i've seen here.
Mine is a daily driver for commuting back and forth to work. Bought it in 04 with 177,000 miles on the clock. Bought it for $1500, spent about another $1200 getting her up and running.
Needed a new clutch, manual trans and tires. Found out about the trans when i replaced the clutch and decided to change the tranny lube.
Unscrewed the plug and nothing came out but dust. Kinda hard to find a decent 2000 5 spd.
Motor is and has been untouched other than maintenance items.
We now stand at 277,000 miles and 36 mpg.
Pretty important when you drive 200 miles per day.
Car has been very dependable, think her time is closing in though.
Due for new struts, rusting, etc... am hoping to make it to 300,000 miles.
Hope to pick up enough info to keep her running here.

My name is Yarl,I recently turned 19, I live in South-America,Suriname. I am currently attending the local university, studying mechanical engeneering. This is my first year there. As a present i received from my dad a 2005 SXT Neon, nicknamed noisy. Thanks to our own body and repair shop, we were able to add a custom body,Srt spoiler, cold air intake and 18" rims. We had a custom exhuast put on too . Now my alll of my friend know when i'm coming over, without calling.
Anyway here are some pictures

Default '02 Base Model

Hey all,I'm new here, just found the site today, also just bought the Neon today,LOL! My name's Stephen and I'm 37,married 18 years next month (to a very patient and forgiving wife =p),two kids (son Nick is 8,daughter Jamie is 13),and in SW Virginia.

I'm kinda a disabled 'Storm vet (though my disability has nothing to do with my early 90's tour in the Army),but it seems our federal government forgets us when we need the SSDI benefits we paid into all our lives, still fighting for it after 18 months. FWIW,I had a trainee wreck me in an 18 wheeler back in '01,broke C2 and C4 in my neck (yeah...I know how lucky/blessed I is ).

Anyways,we just picked this base '00 up this afternoon, though we knew a few days ago it was a done deal,as we needed cheap honest transport for now,and the dealer is a friend of the family, made us a real deal on it. Later, when we're back up to a two car family, this one will be mine (till Jamie turns 16...then she'll probably want to ****** it,haha!),and I plan some changes when the SSDI (that's Disability for those that don't know),though probably only in handling and appearance, very little in performance, knowing my daughter wants it for her first (at that point,I want an SRT-4...). Has a few scuffs on it,but was VERY well maintained mechanically, and runs/drives like a new car. Here's a few pics...

Not sure if you can see the shifter, but it has the wrong tranny for going fast anyways (auto/3 speed),LMBO! =)

hi, my name is Christian, im 18 years old and i own a 03 dodge neon sxt. i live in long island where these crappy roads are not good for my low pro tires lol i did some work in my neon but want to go farther into the work. what i have on it now is K&n cai, eibachi drop springs, hyper flex energy suspension bushing kit (which works amazingly for handling), and a magnoflow exhaust kit. i've joined this forum to ask questions and prepare myself for the upcoming project i have in my car which is droppin a turbo in it.

hello, my name is Thane and I'm 17. I'm a Su Chef at our local restaurant which pays for my car. My parents didn't even hand me as much as a penny.. I bought my 2004 Dodge Neon SXT in March of 2010 (i think it was March?) Its a 2.0L SOHC engine (supposedly 132 hp) i payed only $4,000 for my car which was a good deal due to the damages.

Pictures:
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/members...-neon-sxt.html

Since i bought the car:
...... current mods ........
- tinted windows (back windows limo tint, driver and passenger next lightest tint, SHOULD have tinted them limo too...) ........... ($160)
- a/c repairs .................................................. .. ($160)
- Maxxim Maze 17" rims (black with red pin stripe) and slapped some rubber on them as well. .............................................. ($800)
- radio from walmart ........................................ ($120)
- floor mats, seat/ seat belt/ steering wheel covers. ($40)
- seat covers .................................................. .. ($40)
- headlight eyelids ............................................. ($15)
- red smoke tail lights (haven't received them yet) .. ($80)
....... planned mods ......
- Cold Air Intake
- Touch up interior painting
- LED interior floor lighting
- repair scratches, dents, etc.
- replace windshield
- replace hood
- r/t exhaust
- possible engine swap with an SRT-4
- clear side marker lights
- engine cable cosmetics
- brakes (red? :] )
- shocks

I'm sure i'll find plenty more to do with my car, I'm mainly excited for the engine swap. This is coming from a 17 year old kid who drove a 1989 Dodge Ram Van for his first year of high school.. my friends called it the rapist van. And maybe i might be dumping money or wasting money on this car, but at least I'm enjoying it and having fun. Also, if I'm lucky, my grandfather's luck with Dodges will be passed down to me. Since he gave me his skin cancer and other crap, he might as well have passed down his luck too, right?
