Howdy bdveteran18! Like Showsxt and yourself I have a 2004 SXT, but mines not even close to the insatant-fil-a-cup she drives =]
Showsxt and Darthroush are two of the best people I've met here so far for good advice. There's a guy called 22Dodge22 who's also very knowledgeable, but about abrasive as 0.5 grit sandpaper, lol.
A great place I've found for info on all aspects of the Neon (including performance) is http://faq.neons.org/2kfaq/
Another good site for info is http://www.allpar.com/neon/neon2.html but it can be a PIA to navigate through.
As for myself, the only things I've done under the hood besides basic maintenance stuff is switched to a K&N and removed the weather stripping from the back of the engine bay (a sweet little +1hp tip I came across, and it's totally reversable).
You can add a rear sway bar like I did (for less than $40) if you have aftermarket rear struts (so they have the tab to attatch the endlinks to). Find a junkyard with an early 2nd gen neon (00 and 01) and you'll probably find one. I got mine off a 2001 SE for $20 and ordered Energy Suspension end links for >$20 off Amazon to put it on with. It's nothing fancy, and it's super easy to do, but it made cornering noticably better.
Welcome to the club!

New to the site
Hey there my name is Tyler and i'm 26 and an apprentice auto mechanic so i'm pretty familiar with things. i just recently bought a 2001 Neon LX with a 5 speed, I have put in a set of 10,000k H.I.D. bulbs and the basic white fogged taillights. plus the stereo has been upgraded obviously. i've been trying to find a couple of item for it here in canada but seems a little hard, one thing i'm looking for is a center high mount lens to match the taillights, and some nicer looking headlight lens'. anyone that has spare parts for this gen let me know what you have. i'll post a pic soon need to clean her up from the winter first.
