Today (okay technically yesterday now) I hauled *** up a steep hill, hitting 70 in a 45, and got to the top and smelled clutch. I was hovering around 35psi in 5th at 1/2-3/4 throttle and could feel it slipping. Truck was unloaded. I am disappointed that my 450hp rated dual friction clutch is not good enough. I guess no more turning up the power screw for now. I don't want to buy a clutch, high perfprmance diesel clutches are EXPENSIVE! I will just drive it more cautiously until I decide what I want to do.

There are one, three and four hole injectors out there that will work, just remember that we run at 49 psi and most injectors are flow rated at 39 or 35 psi so you need to correct the psi to 49 to see what the new flow rate is.
sounds like a gasoline hose pissing gas into the intake lol..

oh how different a diesel injector is...

mine are 7 hole injecting at 4,500psi.

then again big difference being mine is directly injected into the cylinder, yours are injected into the intake manifold.

diesels use their injectors like a spark plug...injects fuel the moment its ready for detonation. intake valves only pull in air. no fuel in the intake.

yes they are...but they are so worth it...

dual friction sounds like a gasoline clutch...

replace that POS with a valair or a south bend clutch..you'll be sorry if you go with any other company.

go for like a 600hp rated clutch so you don't have to worry about slipping it again...

that may sound like overkill, but they don't have very high torque ratings, and its the torque that causes the slippage...

Just finished painting and putting back my dash board. I don't think it looks bad at all.

And just a pic of my new headers

It is a South Bend OFE single disc. It is not a POS. It retails at $900+ for the kit with the flywheel. Not the baddest clutch out there by any means, but definitely a good clutch. Up a less steep hill today I floored it in 5th an it didn't slip at all so I am not gonna worry about it for now.

Took it to the carwash to clean it, now procrastinating vacuuming.

yeah south bends aren't cheap...

I paid like 1100 for my double disc. (got a few hundred off on it cause I'm special )

had to upgrade my hydraulics for it too...that was another couple hundred.

it holds under all conditions though...bit grabby though...
