What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?
the new 6.7L's with all of the emissions garbage on them need to be worked hard to keep from clogging up the exhaust and intake with soot...
the older ones don't have all that junk on them, so you can baby them all you want.
bit upset at the ramcharger right now. it was raining pretty hard last night. i hop in it today to park in on the street so i could drive my 81 and water started coming out around the light in my overhead console as i started moving. tried putting some more caulking on the plug in the roof that i think might have been leaking since it is suppose to rain a lot more. as i type i can hear the thunder. just waiting for the rain.
think you are confusing the new 6.7L engines with the older 5.9L engines...

Then on the newer motors used by some manufacturer's for fire trucks, a lot of emissions junk is required now and it lowers their power output and makes them much more expensive to maintain. Makes you wonder how much pollution is created in an effort to reduce the pollution from the motors themselves (sort of like the batteries on hybrid gas cars). I thought diesels were fairly clean except for the soot?
On my leaking headers from cracked welds-Can somone give me an idea of how much I should expect to pay to have my headers repaired? My friend only has a MIG so he can't do stainless so I was going to take it to a local machine/fab shop that has a TIG. The headers are pretty low quality stainless though, magnet kind of sticks to it, but not as good as iron and they started rusting pretty much as soon as they were on the truck outside. Def not even close to the quality of the full stainless exhaust I on my VW 7 years, full turbo back unpolished stainless exhaust with a polished muff+tips that still looks brand new, even after 7 New England winters.
I'm considering just going back to log manis on my Ram. I'm not planning on doing anything like roller rockers any time soon. Shorty headers don't make that big of a difference on a stock motor do they?
