Why install a smaller intake? More velocity?

smaller intake? the intake would most likely flow better since it is from a 340. i also think the intake is pre emissions so there should hopefully be no emission port.

Well, smaller intake as opposed to a 360.

What do you mean about emissions port? My 76 doesn't have emissions stuff on it.

i think the 340 and 360 have same size intake port size.

the intake that is currently on my 81 has a egr valve and the crap inside the intake.

Ain't no EGR here. And it's a 76, which should have it.

The big blocks had the emissions crap supposedly starting in 75. For some reason my Haynes manual doesn't have anything listed for the 400 though. Maybe it was exempt for some reason.

Didn't do anything directly to the truck, but did make setup bearings for my D44.

Could someone with stock ride height, regardless of tire, measure the distance from their wheel center to the lip of their fender? Thanks.

Front 22 1/2"
Rear 24 1/2"

with 33"s, although you said it doesn't matter.
