I drove mine for the first time in a month last night. Last offroad park trip I busted a cap on the driver's side front axle shaft, had no way of fixing it so I drove it home. Found out it egged out the shaft and I need to replace it lol. It's been awhile so I risked it and cruised around for a bit last night wounded.

Replaced my (black) drivers side door that was pretty much falling apart, and would no longer close, with a new to me (red) door from a 97. What really surprised me, (though I suppose it shouldn't have) were the minor differences in the door harness... was not a direct swap..... had to switch out the harness as well.

Merc I am glad to see you are rollin on the axle build!

I have pretty much decided I am gonna sell the red truck to get things going on my new 24v. I still haven't even gotten it running because injection pumps are expensive. I will pull the lift spacers, shocks, and tires/wheels off the red truck and put stock wheels with street tires on it, as well as get the front bumper on it. If anyone wants it PM me. Mods and the fairly long list of what has been done to it in my garage.

Replaced the PO's "dead center bent in" front bumper with a used straight one!
Even the fog lights still work - bonus!

Checked all fluids... nothing needed, second week in a row... getting rid of the plenum problem has its advantages

Well, finally got some drive time on the truck since the door replacement..... It's amazing, 95% of my squeaks and rattles went away. Nice and quiet in the cab now. Time to fix the A/C........
