The random cough back into the intake has stopped after ~1000 miles of driving... it must have been the PCM learning the new bits.
Idle has also stopped fluctuating,
PCM had spark too advanced at idle, that will cause rough idle and spit back into the intake. My PCM decided to run what it thought was 18* advance at idle, timing light revealed it was 25*, and that can happen with a properly running PCM and engine, if the PCM hasn't relearned properly (or even not completely relearned yet) or the sync is out of whack.

I found the time to remove both drums off the Dana 60, what a mess. The star adjusters where all the way out, cracked shoes on both sides, the drums are machined past the safe zone. So time for new drums, shoes for the rear and new pads and calipers for the front 60.
i bet the drums that were on that thing are in better shape than the ones that are on my dads ford. his are way machined way past the safe zone from use.
i replaced the power distribution center in my 81. my electric fan relay is now in the DPC and working like it did before i killed half my old PDC.
Hit the key yesterday and it barely turned... previous days had been a little labored but started fine.
Guessing a cell collapsed.
Can't complain though, as this will only be the 3rd battery I've bought for it since new... so that's ~5yrs per battery on average.
I've had DieHard and Interstate in the past, and will try an OptimaŽ this time.
