7500th post. insignificant w00t!
Usually takes more with a filter drop versus just a pan drop, also depends on how much fluid actually drains.....

Fluid was dripping out of the filter for quite a while until I dropped it.
Then another like half quart came falling out. lol

you know you are suppose to check the fluid level with the truck in neutral before you drive it right?

I did that.....I'm wondering if I had done it before the t-stat in the cooler had opened.

Yep, did that too.

Even when it was going to slip and I didn't know it, everything seemed smoother. lol

I'm going to hopefully drive it tomorrow, but I'm not going to go back to driving it until I can get that checkvalve deleted.

BTW.

this is jibber jabber.

This isn't:

So I've put a total of 6.5 qts in it, had to put it up for the night. I'd had about 5.5 in it to begin with. Everything seemed fine, drove it down the road, seemed to be working. Go to pull away from the stop sign, SLIP THUNK.

****.

Turn into a ladies driveway, reverse works fine..hmmm...*drive* SLIP THUNK.

SH!TTT!!! Nurse it back down to my house, check the dipstick. NOTHING. So I put a full qt in it, at least, I forget. Either way, Imma check it again tomorrow morning sometime to see what it's doing.
I should be able to be here still on DF, albeit 6hrs earlier (I think) than normally I would be now.

After 7.5 qts of fluid it's finally full.
Damn.

Seems to be smoother, holds the shift into OD a tad longer and the clunk that's plagued it for the past 4 months is not quite as bad. Hmmmm....

Also, how hot should the trans. cooler return hose be? Mine is hot but not so hot I can't touch it, just can't hold my hand there for any real length of time.
