you haven't had fun with manual brakes till you have driven an old pickup truck with 4 wheel drum brakes and no power assist...

our old 69 chevy pickup is manual EVERYTHING! well other than defrost and wipers... those have motors lol..

but it's manual steering, manual 4 wheel drum brakes, and a 4 on the floor manual transmission. still runs and drives great with the old 327 chevy v8 in it.

needs a new floorboard though and desperately needs the brakes adjusted as it will damn near put you in a ditch trying to stop.. pulls hard to the curb braking..

I hate not having power assist on brakes...feels like you gotta panic stop to do a normal stop in that heavy boat

I like my hydraulic assist power brakes . Only thing vacuum controls on my truck is hvac control and cruise control brakes and steering run off the power steering pump, vacuum runs off the vacuum pump since forced induction vehicles don't produce vacuum on their own, and my front axle has a posi-lok cable to engage/disengage it.

The Dodge F1500HD Custom cruise control isn't vacuum controlled, only thing vacuum controlled will be CAD and HVAC.

Is that Cheb a manual start engine too?

My last vehicle was a '69 IH Scout with manual everything. The guy I bought it from was the second owner, and he described the brake pedal as "heavy as a dead preacher".

^It's VDub, you should know there isn't any rhyme or reason to his posts half the time. In process of changing the fluid and filter....

Got the pan dropped, mostly cleaned up at the moment.

Good news tho! Even though there was metallic crap floating in the fluid, there wasn't any shavings on the magnet. Fluid is a tad dark and there was sludge in the pan. So I'm thinking I managed to overheat it a tad. Check valve delete for sure coming up.

I'm thinking you overheated it GOOD. Check them cooler lines for cloggin and the cooler for obstruction.
