I was tied up behind a Ford F150 and a tractor trailer rig on a two lane 55 mph state road. So for the first time I punched
this old 97 and made it back in ahead of the rig with an on coming car 150' to spare (all within the legal passing stripe).
It was the first time I've had it above 4000 rpm's. Proud of the old girl.

Picked up a 2nd hydraulic jack to stay in this truck. As a continuing topic I use 1 drop down hitch for the lifted trucks
(single ball) and a 3 way straight hitch/ball for the 98 1500. I keep them and pins in the tool boxes until needed. Almost forgot,
used my Kroger points for .30 per gallon off on 16.9 gallons 87 Octane w/ethanol. So back down to about 12 mpg hand calc.
on the 97. K.

Topped it off with 79.4L, for my 458KM. Quite the improvement, over what it was before. Around 13.5MPG, compared to the 9.6. All in town too and not having a light foot. I really need to lay off the gas to see what I can really get out of her lol.

Umm, no. lol

That's why I bought the camera. Already had the in-dash nav for years and it was camera ready. Just never really payed attention till recently that it doesn't take a proprietary camera... any ol reverse camera that outputs mirror image works just uses an RCA video connection.

Fair enough, not allowed to keep reciever hitches in in my area so ive only got to worry about the bumper haha.

Today setup an appt for the truck, gonna be getting battery terminals replaced (all corroded and im not doing that in this cold!) , CEL diagnosed and fixed, and get the idle issue fixed. Ughh this cold just sucks all the motivation to do anything outa ya...
possibly? 2500 4x4's do have factory lift blocks in the back, and shes runnin 315/75R16 tires (close metric equiv of 35x12.50R16)

maybe I'll get some pics of the new toy tonight. the plate mount looks slightly goofy, but the camera view is pretty nice. Even has distance lines to help judge distances.

I had to get an 8 in drop hitch to tow my trailer yesterday when I went to get an s10.

Tried to tow with the old hitch. I think it's like 3 in. And it just felt terrible. I could feel the trailer binding.

Got the 8in and it pulls like it should now. Handled the 7000+ trailer and truck easy peasy.

Default Removed cargo net

I removed the black aftermarket cargo net, clips and screws from the bed of the diesel. I never thought how well an emerald green tailgate blends with black. K.

Replaced my leaking timing cover gasket and put in a new water pump while I was in there.

Brought it to the stealership. Asked for 3L of some Tranny fluid for the truck, came back with 3 bottles of ATF+4, said $10.47/ bottle, I was fine with that, then the other guy looked it up and said I needed the fancy stuff, so the guy went to the back and came back with 2 bottles, I said "I'll take another," to which he said "No, you only need 2, they're pricey." I asked how much and he said FORTY SEVEN freaking dollars, per liter! I passed, for obvious reasons, then asked if they had a 17mm or 1/2" bit driver socket, or allen key and they said no...

Shopped around and could only find sets($35+) and one single for $20.
