I worked on my son's 2nd gen today! This morning we had to do all new axles, bearings and seals. The best part is that he had to pay for everything since it is "his truck". He said he found some good deals from wermopar.com, so I thought yall might want to check em out.

That's almost more than I have in my truck, including the purchase price!!

It's an Atlas and congrats on getting one. The real question is what gear ratio did you go with? Don't go and think you can run front digs w/o issue? lol

What is the rest of the rig running anyway? Tranny, axles, tires, etc.

This guy here is running 318, nv4500, 4 speed Atlas (5.44:1), and 5.13s on Toyo 40s....broke the Atlas (not this occasion though). Atlas is good on their products.

My truck didn't cost that much originally either, but the price keeps rising the longer I keep it.

I know it is a 3rdGen but I never post there. I am always in this area because of the 2nd Gen engine that is in my Jeep.
So I hope you all don't mind me sharing here.

I got new wheels for my truck. When I bought the truck two years ago it came with chrome rims. I hate chrome and they looked like crap all the time.
So last week I had ordered some new rims and they came in yesterday so I took the truck down and had them mounted. The truck looks ten times better now to me and the guys at the Les Schwab.

New Rims

What do you all think? Like the chrome better or the Black with the contrast cut?

I think the black is far superior. You have excellent taste in rims.

Thanks guys. I almost got some matte black rims but the more I thought about them the less I liked them. Now I need to take the white flares off and get the black ones installed.

And maybe my bumpers will come off back order so I can get a rear bumper on the truck. I hate the way it looks. Right now they are telling me end of Aug or start of Sept before they will be available.
