What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?
It's been dipping into the low 40's here at night. Made me realize winter's coming up right around the corner. The Ram needs new u-joints, shocks all the way around, a new transmission mount, new gas tank strap, and the front drive-shaft put back in. Hopefully after that I won't have to throw any money at it for a while. The first 4 years of owning this truck was awesome, didn't have to put anything into it. It's all caught up to me over the past year.
So you just pick up used cars fix em up and re sell em er just find alright vehicles buy low sell high? Its a really good idea, its something Ive always wanted to do but never have enough spare cash too
Put new rear brake lines on it, bled the brakes and adjusted them. It can stop on a dime now. Makes me wonder if my brake line had been leaking very slightly before...
Took a half hour yesterday to do some adjusting to the carb and such. Adjusted the electric choke, adjusted idle speed, and adjusted fuel mixtures. Went from a rough and noisy idle at 1000RPM to a very smooth and amazingly quiet idle at 500-600RPM. Also got my low end power back. Cleaned all the ignition system grounds, and tightened connections around the truck as necessary.
And lastly, towed a trailer with it.
Plans for the near future: Gonna go wheelin' on some old tree stumps. I'll post pics when I do
Edit: I got some paint for the truck to. PW7 paint code!

On the plus side with my new 2014 CTD, it's averaging 19.8 mpg commuting back and forth to work and if I go nowhere else I only have to put diesel in it about every three weeks.
Negative side, it took $100 to fill from just under a quarter tank...

I'm actually lovin it so far. Unloaded it stays planted and isn't harsh at all. Going over RR tracks on my commute you barely know they are there.
Jury is still out on how they handle a load. I haven't towed yet and haven't had more than 150# in the bed. I'll find out soon enough, have a yard project I'll need a full load of river rock for. Just waiting on temps to not be 90* plus everyday to start it...

At least you don't get beat around driving unloaded haha.
Cup Holder -- New and Old
I got the nice fitting cupholder setup from Geno's Garage. The old one still works fine but is no longer functional. It can't be opened all the way. I have some plans for the area there.
Had a heck of time trying to remove it. I didn't want to break it, hence the switches got mounted to it temporarily. How do you take it out? lol
