I dont know what the market is but it bit seems expensive. The no cad from axle is a big plus though!!!! Pretty desirable imo. It is 32 spline tho.

 

I just bought my new baby yesterday. 04 silver. I cleaned and waxed it today the chrome looks great but the headlight are yellowing. What's the best way to clean them?

As for the headlights, several companies make cleaning kits, trouble is, it doesn't last. Cleaning them basically consists of using a VERY fine abrasive to take some material off the headight lense, leaving it nice and clear. Unfortunately, it also takes off the the layer of UV protectant that is supposed to keep them from yellowing... Which means, they yellow again, even faster. Some kits have a spray on coating with them, and those seem to have better success rates.

Other alternative is to just replace them. AM-Autoparts.com has good prices on replacements, that are actually of reasonable quality. I got both mine, with the side markers, and bulbs.... for 85 bucks shipped to my door.

I use this on the headlights and taillights of my car and truck and it does a good job keeping them clear, I usually do the truck every couple weeks since it sits outside 24/7.

 

Fabbed up some tow hook brackets. Spent longer on them than I care to admit but I'm happy. Mostly mimicked the Mopar ones minus one mount bolt per flange, 3 per is way overkill. I went with 2 per.

started with this






shortened up a bit. flux core + bevelled edges on 1/4" plate works great with a cheapo welder. tried with gas and couldn't get near enough penetration



horizontal flanges to tie into the crossmember



gussets - try not to laugh too hard at my booger welds. i tried multi-passing them but should have just left them. the weld underneath has lots of penetration



drilled and bedlined







installed (with lots of grease )







I used hooks and nut plates from an older Suburban which have a slight upward angle to them. They conform nicely with the front bumper

 

Wow, looks pretty good. Were the holes in the air dam already there, or did you have to cut them?

 

Cut them with a dremel along the factory embossed lines, sanded and painted the valance with plastic trim paint.

 

That piece is long gone from my truck, if it was ever there in the first place.

Looks great though. You did a good job. Tow hooks are a godsend when you need them.
