Now Double air bags, my lights on...............they are good in the 99 Diesel
though. BTW, this forum is my only 4x4 forum, I just lurk in the back ground.

Mom passed away and the wife moved back home to NC, so in KY it's me, the
Coon dog, Shepard and that goofy black cat.

Aired up a couple of tires today in preparation to drive it again.

Nothing wrong with the old girl, just haven't drove it in about 2 or 3 weeks.

On this fine warm dry day I washed er down and did the annual wheel polishing chore. I got the wheels for 25 bucks a piece and the clearcoat was all coming off and yellow. So I stripped them. Thus the wheel polishing event. Good for another year.

It was yesterday, but somehow or other my photos remained while my post disappeared, so here's the rerun:

I found the mounting hardware provided by Ranch Hand with the bumpers I bought to be completely insufficient:

That's not camera trickery -- the washers are that grotesquely dished. So I replaced the hardware with these:

Double meat washers under flange heads ought to do the trick nicely, I expect. The thick washers kinda camouflage the fact that those are 1/2-13x1.5" bolts.

I think the band "The Cars" wrote a song about that situation. ......" Shes my best friends girlfriend, And she use to be mine!"

Coincidentally, that album was released very near the date upon which I met my wife -- I don't remember if it was a couple of days before or a couple of days after, but it was on the radio a lot.

But it was Queen's Jazz album that we wore through the grooves when it came out later that year.
