I'M BACK!!!

Hey guys how have y'all been?

I've recently started messing with the Beast again. It's been sitting for like 4 years one of the front brake lines blew a while back and I wasn't able to afford new ones and with my job I didn't have free time. I finally was able to pick up a kit from Advance that's supposed to have all the lines in it.

You probably don't remember that I was having a battery draining issue with it. I picked up a battery switch out of an old ambulance that I plan to install. With that I decided to build a new center console. I had ripped out the old one and all the wiring when I parked it was back when so it has been sitting all ripped apart all this time. Last week I started back designing the new console. The new console/ rewiring project part of it should be more simplified now because I no longer run with any fire companies. With my job I don't have time to volunteer anymore, and my back is so jacked up now my work doctor told me I shouldn't do it.

Soooo once the console is done I need to replace my header gaskets again. Then I'll be moving onto the brake lines. The hope was to get it all done in the next like 3 weeks. Not sure if I can pull it off but we shall see. I'll post pics as I go along.

Don't know of I've ever posted this but my wife's parents moved south so she got her old RC back, from her dad. It's an 87 with the 318. I've been tinkering with it here and there. Runs ok... I think it shoukd have more power than what it does and it has a stutter at times. When it gets hit it gets temperamental starting. Just replaced the power steering pump and it turns amazing lol

Where does the drag link attach? And do you have a problem with tie-rod roll?

It attaches to the tie rod. Here's another picture. I only drove it a few miles, but I think it does roll a little. I forgot to put on the piece that corrects that issue. I'll put it on soon and see if there's a difference. Here's a link to that part too also from ruffstuff. http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/..._Code=TRESTEER

Ah, ok. I have 'the cure' sitting in the top of my tool box, just need to get it on the truck, and see how much of a difference it makes. Been kinda wet/cold here of late, so, haven't done much with it..... My seat covers, and new battery tray are waiting to get installed as well. Just waiting for a decently warm day.

How much clearance does that crossover tie rod have to the pumpkin? My Moog T steering has about an 1/8th of an inch and it is curved slightly!

Looks like a good kit and cheaper than Moog! That "cure" is a rip=off. Just get some washers and stick em between the knuckle and ball joint. No more rolley rolley. Actually, when my kit was new, it had no problems until I messed with the caster and it started rolling and clunking bad. Went back with caster and it stopped. Their cure says to only use on drag link? That's not the problem. It's the tie rod at the passenger knuckle. Ugh.

Why are we now hearing about this "GM 1-ton" kit? Does it have the same tapers as Dodge? Is it designed for Rams or just Jeeps? I love that the tie rods are separate and can easily be replaced or adjusted. Ah, I now see it is a raw kit that has to be painted and welded. Not for everyone.
