It has no clearance. I probably lost 1/4 turn of steering, but I think there are offset tie rods available to correct that. It still steers plenty sharp though so I'm going to leave it for now. Probably helps that my wheelbase is so short.

Doing a u joint & brake pads on my new 97
My old 97 I had to another pump in seems it had the wrong harness which burnt up.
COMMENT my old one @ 242,000 just rides & drives sooo much better than my new 97 with 192,000 miles
I'm thinking of selling the new one & getting a Hemi reg cab or a Dakota JUST THINKING

Ordered Timbren rear helper springs today. I've been hauling some gravel lately and it doesn't take much weight before I'm sitting on the bump stops, especially since I removed a leaf spring a few years ago for better ride comfort when unloaded. It did really help the ride too. Will be nice to have more load capacity, Timbrens are rated for 6000lbs, and still maintain unloaded comfort.

I worked on my 3rd Gen some this weekend and installed some new tail lights. I kept having issues with the plugs for the light bulbs not working. I'd lose brake lights on one side or a turn signal would stop working. I bought new bulb holders and that still didn't fix the problem.
So I finally broke down and spent the money on some LED tail lights. All I can say is how happy I am with them.

Left turn signal is on in this picture.

Also if you look you can see the 60" light strip I installed under the tailgate. It is one of the 4 function lights, Tail, Turn, Stop & Reverse.

And then last instead of putting regular clear bulbs in the reverse area I ordered some LED bulbs. Wow do they light up the night. I was amazed at just how well they work. I can really see my driveway now when I am backing up it.

These are the lights I bought off Ebay.

Dash lights I haven't gotten installed yet. Of course it is suppose to rain this weekend so I am hoping for some nice weather soon.

And I got the light bar off Amazon,

In the next month or two I am going to get some projector headlights too.

I hope you all don't mind me sharing my mods here as I almost never go to the 3 gen section. Someday I am going to be able to get back to working on my engine and get my Jeep running again so we can all see what that 408 does.

For now I am working on my Dodge. I broke my stock grill about a month ago and wanted to get it replaced. I always wanted to get rid of the stock chrome grill so now was a good excuse. So good old Ebay came to the rescue again.

Looks nice. I wish someone would start making one for the 2nd gen around that price, the few companies that do are outrageous

I wanted one with a light bar but of course they only make them for Fords and Chevy.
