This afternoon, before game time...
I was planning a separate firewall hole for the vacuum line, but decided to open up a hole in the slot that the hardline is supposed to go in.
The hardline insides the cab are fine... it’s only those in the engine bay that are brittle.
So I’ll run new hose to the factory splice in the cab (I’m curious if this splice is standard or just a peculiarly when they reached the end of roll).

More then likely when they reached the end of a roll

In the never ending steering saga that is my truck, I threw on a new pressure hose since the old one always leaked at the pump. It seems to not be leaking but whether the steering is better I can't say yet. I was getting a random day of nice effortless steering and then back to dull and dead feeling. So who knows.

Also put on some new LED back up lights. Old ones were rusted on so that was fun. Nothing a 2lb. sledge couldn't handle.

Also swapped the oil in my NV3500. I've always used the Mopar oil per the manual but figured it wouldn't hurt to spend less and use the new Valvoline MTF as it's recommended as a replacement for the Mopar part number. So far it works fine. After 261k, it can't hurt it too bad.

Why not try that bracket that goes over the hitch received for your lights?

Not sure what bracket you mean. The hitch and all brackets are 1/8" steel so I can't drill through that. I use the shackles actually. There's a hole in them that I hang the lights from. The old ones were just crusty and rotten. They sure do light up nice!

Talking about this. It bolts over top the hitch

Ah, aftermarket deal. Thought it was something I already had. Those are cool but I don't want the lights sticking out that far. Plus the chains mount right there. Thanks though!

Got a point there. Why not drill into the factory hitch towards the end so you can use a nut and bolt? Unless your setup works (no point in messing with something that works). I seen a bracket for a Tacoma that uses the shackle mounts, was going to try it but I didn't think the light would be good.
