The local radiator shop here no longer does small jobs like mine. I spoke with the shop principle at length and he told me they make their money repairing radiators for corporate clients now, such as Caterpillar equipment, etc. He also stated that he couldn't source that small of a core anymore. He'd like the shop workers to be younger, but almost all of them are 55 and up and has a very hard time sourcing younger workers that want to work and have a work ethic. Kinda the sign of the times...

I had him check on a radiator for my Deere sub compact tractor, but he couldn't touch that either.

Why don't you want a aluminum core? You used to be able to get the ones with solid lines. Not shure if that's the case now. You can cut the swivels off and have them welded.

An new aluminum heater core would be fine. Just don't want the swivel style inlet & outlet tubes. Unfortunately, all of the current aluminum heater cores currently available have converted to the swivel style tubes. Also, trying to avoid welding up tubes on a new core..

According to the pic this is not the swivel type. Might want to contact them and make sure.
Seems somebody asked this but didn't get an answer.
"Does heater core come with swivel fittjngs?
alfred pSep 21, 2018Best Answer: New hardware and fittings are not included with this item. You may be able to reuse your original hardware if it is in good condition. Otherwise, you can source locally. Thank you."

Will do! Thanks for the tip. That's what I'm looking for if it doesn't have those swivel joints...

This heater core did indeed have non-swivel (solid) joints in the inlet and outlet tubes of the heater core. It seems fairly well made and shouldn't leak. Thanks for the tip, as it was the only one manufactured in this manner that I've seen.

Geeze...this turned from a "What did you do today?" thread to a debate on radiator parts.

Changed out the plugs today, and happy with what I see. Cylinder 1 is bottom right. I Just turned 162k, running the hemifever 89 tune on 93 octane with JBA shorty headers, JBA plug wires, and a custom exhaust.

Wow, those look really good. How long were they in there? Looks like you are getting a really good burn on all cylinders.
